A large scale intumescent paint project, requiring multiple phases, on a technically complex warehouse unit.
TBL Fire protection applied intumescent paint to 6,750m2 of steelwork, as directed, in order to achieve 2 hours, 90 minute and 60 minute ratings, in the respective areas. Top coat was applied in some areas of the building, to comply with the Client’s aesthetic requirements. Due to the risk of overspray, some of the top coat had to be hand applied.
In order to achieve 2 hours protection, high loadings were required and up to 5 applications needed on certain steels. TBL Fire Protection achieved this successfully within the contractor’s tight scheduling requirements.
